Senior HR Manager
Senior HR Manager - 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Isio is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our Employment, Policy and HR Services team in Manchester. Reporting to the Head of HR Services, you will provide expert advice across the employee lifecycle, lead on complex employee relations and employment law matters, and help strengthen the policies, insight and services that support our people and business.
You will work closely with HR Business Partners, senior leaders and colleagues across the HR function, with a particular focus on Wealth, Private Office and Employee Benefits. The role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery and includes line management, team development and support for organisational change and M&A activity.
What you'll do
Lead on complex and high-risk employee relations cases, providing clear, pragmatic advice that balances colleague, legal, reputational and commercial considerations.
Act as a senior escalation point for HR colleagues and advise HR Business Partners and business leaders on employment law, policy and organisational risk.
Draw on extensive experience to lead TUPE and M&A activity from an HR perspective, including employment law, policy and contract harmonisation.
Lead on risk assessment across all business units which is imperative given current employment law landscape and increasing ER cases in the business.
Liaise with the business and HRBPs on restructures and strategic people initiatives.
Use case data and management information to identify trends, cultural risks and opportunities for improvement, including oversight of the employee relations dashboard.
Shape, review and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent practice and alignment with business needs and risk appetite.
Manage, coach and develop HR colleagues, setting high standards for case management, service delivery and professional growth.
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and collaborate across Recruitment, Reward, Payroll, and the wider HR function.
Contribute to operational delivery, reporting and continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle.
What you’ll bring
CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent.
Extensive employee relations experience and robust knowledge of UK employment law.
In-depth experience of TUPE, organisational change and mergers and acquisitions.
Professional services or financial services experience.
Strong judgement and risk-management capability, with the confidence to advise, challenge and coach senior stakeholders.
Clear, credible communication skills and the ability to translate complex HR matters into focused, commercially relevant advice.
Proven people leadership and coaching experience, with a flexible management style.
The ability to work at pace, manage ambiguity, prioritise effectively and maintain close attention to detail.
Strong HRIS experience; Power BI and Microsoft Office knowledge would be advantageous.
The opportunity
This is an influential role for an HR leader who combines deep technical expertise with commercial judgement and a commitment to excellent service. You will have the opportunity to shape policy and practice, strengthen organisational capability and make a visible contribution to Isio’s people agenda.
