Pension Administrator – Training Academy
As a Pensions Administrator in Isio’s Pensions Administration Training Academy, you will take part in a structured development programme designed to build the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in pensions administration.
The programme combines classroom learning, hands‑on experience, and mentoring, with the aim of progressing into one of Isio’s pensions administration teams on successful completion. During the programme, you will work within a supportive team environment to process pension scheme transactions, respond to member queries, and maintain accurate records, while developing a strong understanding of UK pensions regulations, data management, and customer service.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in pensions, who enjoys problem‑solving, working as part of a team, and delivering a high‑quality service to customers.

The start date for our Academy will be Wednesday 23rd September 2026, and you will be based in our Belfast City Centre office. Office attendance will be a minimum of 4 set days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday) allowing you flexibility to work from home on a Wednesday.

What does the role entail?
Completion of structured training modules and assessments, fully supported by an experienced training team
Demonstrate understanding of training through practical application, show understanding of end-to-end processes.
Processing member lifecycle events (e.g. transfers, retirements, and deaths), using pensions administration software to manage workflows and calculations
Calculate members pension benefits
Respond to member queries via email, phone, or post, within set timeframes
Provide clear, jargon-free information and support to help members understand their pension
Ensure adherence to internal processes, controls, data protection policies and regulatory requirements.
Work as part of a team to process cases within set timescales.
Participate actively in team meetings, contributing ideas and fresh perspective
What we’re looking for
We don’t expect you to have pensions experience — we’re looking for the right attitude, eagerness to learn and your potential to succeed.
Maths and English – GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C / 4 or above
Great attention to detail – enjoys working carefully, following steps, and taking pride in getting things right
Confident with IT – comfortable using computers and everyday tools like Word, Excel, email and other online systems
Customer‑focused – friendly, approachable, and happy helping people
Strong communication skills – able to speak and write clearly, listen well, and explain things in a simple way
Team-player – enjoy working with others and feel positive about feedback and learning from it
Trustworthy – understand the importance of keeping personal information private
Willingness to learn – a positive attitude, curiosity, and openness to trying new tasks and developing new skills
