Role Description
This role is ideal for a pensions professional eager to transition into a leadership role while driving the success of Isio’s next generation of talent. If you thrive on empowering others and have a vision for excellence in pensions administration, we want to hear from you.
As a Manager in the Pensions Administration Training Academy at Isio, you will play a crucial role in helping to design, deliver, and oversee a comprehensive training programme for new trainees. Your focus will be to ensure that your team develop the skills, knowledge, practical experience and confidence to perform to the highest standards in pensions administration roles at Isio.
You will act as a mentor, trainer, and ensure adherence to our quality framework, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. You will ensure the trainees output is accurate and timely, processing pension scheme tasks whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and SLAs.
This role is pivotal in maintaining Isio’s reputation as a trusted partner in pensions administration and driving operational excellence, whilst supporting your team of trainees in their professional development journey with Isio.
This role will ideally be based in our Belfast office with a hybrid workstyle, but we can consider another office location for the right candidate.
What does the role entail?
- Aid in the development and continuous improvement of a structured training programme covering all core areas of Defined Benefit Administration.
- Co-create engaging training materials (e.g. e-learning, case studies, process guides) with our dedicated Admin training team and the wider Isio Learning & Development team.
- Deliver hands-on workshops, simulations, and role-playing exercises to build practical skills.
- Manage, mentor and motivate a team of pension trainee administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. You will conduct regular performance reviews, identifying skills gaps, training needs, and tailor individual development plans.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to ensure trainees meet competency milestones and behavioural traits.
- Work closely with Operation Managers to ensure training aligns with business needs.
- Monitoring the performance of the team against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and taking steps to maintain high levels of service as required.
- Monitor and manage the Academy’s workloads to ensure distribution aligns with team capacity and capabilities.
- You will implement quality checks to ensure trainees meet Isio’s service standards before transitioning to the wider Admin teams.
- You will be responsible for the output of the team ensuring it is accurate and of a high-quality.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrable pension administration - strong experience of working on DB and DC pension schemes (DB experience is essential for the role).
- The ideal candidate is expected to have experience working as a pensions administration manager (or extensive experience as a senior pensions administrator who deputises for the team manager).
- Proven track record of training, coaching, mentoring and/or developing more junior members of the team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel applications.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Experience of carrying out and checking all aspects of pensions administration tasks, including complex manual pension calculations.
- Proven track record of motivating a team to deliver high quality output within SLAs.
- A passion for developing talent and fostering long-term careers in pensions administration.
