Investment Advisory – Senior Credit Research Analyst
Our Investment Advisory team offers full investment consulting services to trustees and sponsors of pension schemes across both defined benefit and defined contribution markets. Our practice is expanding to provide advice to charities, insurers and high net worth individuals on a range of investment issues. The team has delivered fantastic results over the last few years and Investment Advisory is a key growth area for Isio meaning significant investment in new ideas and technology.
Core to our success as an Investment Advisory business is the research that we undertake, both for our existing client mandates and towards developing new thinking. We are looking for an individual with experience in credit research and genuine enthusiasm and interest in new investment ideas to join as a specialist within our research team.
Role Requirements
- Support the head of the team in the day-to day running of the credit research team (covering both the public and private credit universe)
- Input into setting and agreeing research budgets/priority areas and then delivering the agreed outputs
- Provide review and sign off on client related credit research material – research papers, fund ratings to be discussed at wider committee, research notes etc
- Generate new investment ideas and produce IP (research papers, thought pieces, videos) to take to our clients, prospects and the wider market
- Conduct due diligence meetings with managers to set fund ratings and assume overall responsibility for ongoing monitoring
- Support new business activities including inputting into the production of tender submissions from a credit research perspective
- Take ownership of the operational aspects of running the team including resource management
- Attend client meetings as a credit product specialist
- Be a key point of contact and assume responsibility for managing relationships with external investment managers
- Project management capabilities, ability to deliver multiple workstreams to tight deadlines
- Oversee junior members of the team to help them deliver research projects
- Deliver training to colleagues on credit related topics
Experience and Competencies Required
- Applicants are expected to be FIA/FFA or CFA qualified (or equivalent)
- 5-8 years’ experience in financial services ideally with at least 3-5 years’ experience in credit research
- Exceptional understanding and knowledge of the asset management industry and credit markets
- Previous investment consulting / fund of fund experience preferred
- The ability to work effectively in a team including delegation
- Excellent communication skills including strong presentation skills
- Project management capabilities, ability to deliver multiple workstreams to tight deadlines
- Willingness to manage and build strong relationships
- Proactive and commercial approach
- Strong analytical skills
